During the month of March 2025 , Dr. Gloria Magombo, the Secretary for Energy and Power Development was one of the Key panelist at the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue hosted by the German Federal Foreign Office. During the discussions, Dr Magombo highlighted Zimbabwe’s role in the global energy landscape, particularly in the group of metals, #lithum, and others. She emphasized the importance of enhancing value creation and addition while ensuring compliance with #environmental laws and #community rights.
As demand for raw materials is expected to double or triple in the next decade, she highlighted the need to create value chains not only in Zimbabwe but throughout the region, and positioning Zimbabwe to capitalize on these opportunities.
